Maintenance Contract

Protect Tuolumne!

For 33 years, Tuolumne Park and Recreation District (TPRD) has proudly maintained county owned spaces in Tuolumne including Westside Memorial Park, Whitehead Ballfield, and the Veterans Memorial Hall through a maintenance service agreement with the County.

Unfortunately, this vital maintenance contract, which has been at risk of being cut for several years due to the county’s budget shortfalls, is again threatened.

On Tuesday, September 23rd the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors will vote on whether to cut this contract.

If this happens:

TPRD will no longer be responsible for the upkeep or public use of these facilities.

Our community will see a decline in appearance, cleanliness, and safety in the downtown area and beyond.

The County has no clear alternate plan in place to take over this work.

What You Can Do:

Make Your Voice Heard!

This decision directly impacts you, your family, and our entire community.

If you value safe, well-maintained public spaces, please take action:

Watch the BOS meeting live through Access Tuolumne OR

Attend the meeting in person to Speak during Public Comment and share why this contract matters to you. Your voice can make a difference! The supervisors need to hear from the people who live, work, and play here.

TPRD will continue serving our community through tax revenues, activity income, and donations but without this contract, our resources will be stretched thin and the upkeep of these county owned facilities will be in jeopardy. Many of the cherished events such as the Halloween parade and Christmas parade will be cancelled as we cannot host them in unclean spaces.

Let’s show our supervisors that Tuolumne cares about its parks, public spaces, and future. Join us in advocating for this long held contract so that Tuolumne can remain whole.

Together, we can keep our town thriving!
